Job Summary
Develop and administer mathematics curriculum consistent with district goals while creating lesson plans and instructional materials for sequential assignments. Teach concepts including real and imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations, and geometry, conducting individual and small group instruction as needed. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning to modify instructional methods for individual needs, including students with special needs, and maintain records for grading and reporting. Coordinate with faculty members, communicate with parents, and ensure student conduct conforms to school standards. Select instructional supplies, maintain inventory, and continue professional development through seminars or research.
Required Qualifications
- Nevada State Certification as a Mathematics Education Teacher
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
- Knowledge of a wide range of mathematic subject areas, including arithmetic equations, calculus, trigonometry, geometry, and other related areas
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
Desired Qualifications
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
