Job Summary
Certified Nursing Assistant acts as a liaison between patients and the medical staff in an outpatient surgery center, providing basic patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with patient admission, collecting medical histories, taking vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), helping patients with activities of daily living, dressing, or bathroom needs, turning or repositioning immobilized patients, assisting with food and hydration, room cleaning and supply stocking, wound and catheter care, patient transfers and discharges, monitoring for illness or infection, maintaining accurate documentation for the healthcare team, and following exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates problem-solving in stressful situations and performs other duties as assigned; requires completion of CNA training and state licensure with BLS as per ASC policy, with ASC experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CNA training program
- CNA license
- BLS certification (as required by ASC policy)
