Job Summary
Set up and calibrate equipment, then conduct tests using appropriate NDT techniques while interpreting, evaluating, and documenting results. Direct the work of trainees and Level I personnel, resolve problems in a timely manner, and edit numerical data effectively. Work with minimal supervision in plant and shop areas around production machinery, carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and tolerating extreme noise levels. Travel out of town as needed for projects, turnarounds, and call-outs. Maintain confidentiality and actively promote safety procedures while prioritizing work activities using time efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED/Degree
- Proof of classroom hours/Training in NDT
- Previous level II certifications/OJT
- Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for one or all of the following: UT, RT, MT or PT
- Prior certification as an NDE Level II with one (1) year experience
- Prior certification as an NDE Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to certify to Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on all or one (1) of the following: UT, RT, MT or PT
- Industrial Radiographers Certification Card (Required for all hired as a Radiographer)
- Completion of a forty (40) hour Radiation Safety Course (Required for all hired as a Radiographer)
- Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs frequently for Radiography work
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
- Must be able to tolerate climate changes
- Will be required to travel out of town as needed
- Must be able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
- Must be able to edit and present numerical data effectively
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Must prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Must consistently be at work on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance
- Must demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality
- Must actively promote safety procedures; use all equipment and materials properly
Desired Qualifications
