Job Summary
Provide daily support to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism, including complex personal care, household management, meal preparation, and medication assistance. Manage bowel, bladder, and catheter care while safely moving and handling individuals using hoists. Facilitate exercise programs and assist with community access to help achieve positive independent living goals. Maintain client safety and well-being across rotating rosters covering morning, afternoon, weekend, and sleepover shifts. Requires a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification, full New Zealand driver's license, and experience with complex medical conditions.
Required Qualifications
- A Full New Zealand Driver's License
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to flexible schedules
- A genuine passion for helping others
- A supportive mindset to help our Service Users achieve their goals for independent living in the community
- Ideally prior personal care experience is preferred
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury
- A Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disabilities, or challenging behaviours is a plus
