Job Summary
Monitor surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols of guest and back-of-house areas, and respond to incidents or medical situations with discretion. Use de-escalation techniques to resolve concerns calmly while providing a hospitality-first presence by assisting guests with directions or special requests. Support VIP guests and high-profile functions with discreet coverage, then complete clear incident reports using digital systems. Collaborate with hotel teams to support overall operations. This Level II Security Officer role at The Monarch San Antonio hotel requires a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift and involves maintaining a polished demeanor in a luxury environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Level 2 Security License (state-required, e.g., Texas Level 2)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, walk up and down stairs, lift up to 50 lbs., and work indoors/outdoors as needed
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' previous security experience in a luxury hotel, boutique hospitality, high-end retail, or similar environment preferred
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with guests, colleagues, and emergency responders
- Proven ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Experience using de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques
- Excellent writing skills for accurate, objective incident reporting
- Comfortable using computers, digital logbooks, and standard office applications
