Job Summary
Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) administers medications and provides direct resident care according to individualized care plans, observes resident condition changes and communicates with physicians and supervisors, documents care and medication delivery, and supports activities of daily living to promote safety and independence. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, weights, and blood sugars; administering medications following the five rights; insulin administration by insulin-certified technicians; assisting with meals, hydration, ADLs, transfers, and mobility; facilitating resident participation in activities; maintaining a restraint-free environment; supporting fall prevention; coordinating with supervisors and pharmacy; and contributing to staff training and ongoing education. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and current state-approved medication aide/technician certification; CPR/BLS preferred and insulin certification preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong communication and teamwork skills are emphasized.
