Letter of Credit / SBLC Specialist – Trade Finance Operations

Job Summary
Manage the Bank's Letter of Credit portfolio, including issuance, confirmation, and advising of Standby/Guarantees and Import/Export Letters of Credit. Ensure transactions conform to client instructions, UCP Publication 600/ISP98, and credit/compliance procedures while preparing and executing required documents using TI+, Microsoft Word, or ACBS. Process timely disbursements for LC drawings, trace items, and resolve inquiries via correspondence with global parties. Handle billing, invoicing, payments, and SWIFT messaging for all LC and billing-related transactions. Provide technical support to internal clients on LC practices. Work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (40-hour week), following the USA Holiday Calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in SBLC, Commercial Letter of Credit, and/or Guarantees in Trade Finance
- Strong knowledge of UCP 600 / ISP 98 / URDG 758 and regulatory guidelines (sanctions, OFAC compliance, anti-boycott)
- Proficiency in SWIFT
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong time management skills and accountability
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Syndications loans and/or Syndicated LCs
- Experience with TI+ (Trade Innovations) or ACBS systems
- CDCS Certification
- French language skills
- Available on a voluntary basis for up to 2 days per week after a 3-month integration period (subject to manager's discretion)
- A relocation package may be available for eligible candidates
