Job Summary
On-call delivery agent or on-call postal clerk at Canada Post in Victoriaville/Plessisville (QC). Responsibilities include sorting and preparing deliveries, loading and driving a Canada Post postal vehicle, delivering mail and packages on routes, and returning to depot to unload. Postal clerk duties include sorting mail in a facility, operating material handling equipment, receiving and dispatching items, and completing reports. Requires a valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record, ability to lift/heavy items, ability to work in all weather, and availability for on-call shifts including evenings and weekends. Bilingual English/French proficiency is required, with customer service experience and background in delivery or production considered assets. Temporary on-call role with potential opportunities for permanent employment; extensive training provided.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
- The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
- The ability to work in all types of weather
- The availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends
- The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
- Experience in customer service (asset)
- Experience making deliveries or working as a driver (asset)
- Experience working in a production environment is an asset
