Job Summary
Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels and ensuring a fun, engaging experience for participants. Understand contraindicated exercises to maintain a safe and effective approach, while demonstrating accountability by arriving on time, setting up properly, and cleaning the area after each session. Record participation numbers post-class and report any equipment needs or broken items to the supervisor immediately. Maintain industry certification in good standing, meet continuing education requirements, and provide CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire. Work towards meeting departmental goals with flexibility regarding center hours and schedules.
Required Qualifications
- A group exercise instructor certification
- NCCA accredited certification
- NCCA Personal Trainer certification
- Les Mills Certification
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction
- CPR/AED certification
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience teaching a variety of styles, levels and population
