Regulatory Analyst with AESO to prepare and review regulatory applications for connection and system projects, ensure compliance with Alberta's AUC and ISO rules, and support stakeholder engagement. Requires 4-8 years regulatory experience, strong regulatory interpretation, project management, and technical writing skills, with a foundation in power systems and Alberta electricity regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Law, Business, or other related fields
- 4-8 years of hands-on regulatory experience, preferably in the electricity and power sector
- Previous exposure to the Alberta electricity industry, legislation and regulatory structure
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently, meet defined timelines, with conscientious attention to detail
- Experience collecting, analyzing and evaluating complex information, and drawing logical conclusions
- Ability to identify risks and arrive at mitigation strategies and solutions to the risks
- Demonstrated capacity for technical understanding and willingness to develop a strong understanding of power systems engineering studies and reports, including probabilistic congestion assessments
- Experience with technical writing that conveys intended messages with clarity and precision
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree will be considered an asset
- Experience with tariffs, forecasting, legal, and stakeholder relations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
