Job Summary
Legal Technician for the Federal Government stationed at USSS HQ, GIOC. Responsible for researching and applying Federal forfeiture statutes, drafting and revising subpoenas, probable cause statements, and other filings; reviewing and editing Probable Cause Statements for legal sufficiency; coordinating with case agents and attorneys to obtain information; entering and extracting data from seizure files and government databases; maintaining meticulous records to support casework; ensuring drafted documents meet high standards of quality; maintaining knowledge of forfeiture statutes and administrative authority; assisting with review of documents for completeness and accuracy; finalizing Probable Cause Statements for submission to the Lead Legal Technician and Office of Chief Counsel.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- JD from an accredited law school, or a Paralegal certification with an undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited university or college
- Active Public Trust Tier 4a Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical data
