Job Summary

Coordinate administrative support for the Wills & Estates, Corporate, and Mergers & Acquisitions teams by managing scheduling, filing, document repositories, and travel arrangements. Track matter deadlines, monitor workflows, and assist with due diligence, data gathering, and transaction document preparation including redlining and version control. Draft correspondence, memos, and discovery materials while performing legal research and maintaining compliance records. Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and outside counsel to relay updates and coordinate requests. Manage billing support, time entry, and expense tracking. Work full-time in the Jackson, Mississippi office, with occasional hours exceeding 40 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of law firm legal support, legal secretary, legal operations, paralegal, or related experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
  • Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate by phone and in person and follow instructions effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact
  • Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when producing a high volume of information
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours
  • Physical presence in the office

Desired Qualifications

  • College degree
  • Wills & Estates, Corporate, and Mergers & Acquisitions teams experience
  • Document management systems such as Big Hand, NetDocuments, or similar platforms
  • Virtual data rooms and e-signature platforms
  • Adobe Acrobat and PDF editing tools
  • Billing and timekeeping software, including Aderant, iTimeKeep, or similar systems
  • Case management, docketing, scanning, and imaging software
  • Delaware UCC/VCC search experience and related lien search processes
  • Project management and deal tracking tools
