Job Summary
Senior Legal Counsel at Forensicare based at Thomas Embling Hospital (Fairfield, Melbourne, VIC). Provide expert legal advice across matters including privacy, employment, commercial contracting, corporate governance, and risk management; support governance, risk and legal team; lead on complex matters and mentor junior team members; require strong drafting, communication, and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders. Applicant should have 5+ years post admission experience, be eligible for or hold Australian practising certificate in Victoria, and demonstrate statutory interpretation and contracting capabilities. Role involves working across Forensicare sites with a focus on mental health legislation and related governance.
Required Qualifications
- Current Australian practising certificate entitling to practice in Victoria
- At least five years post admission experience
- Ability to work independently with judgement and escalate when needed, and to collaborate with others
- Statutory interpretation skills
- General commercial contracting capabilities
