Job Summary
Input, revise, and finalize correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents while proofreading for formatting, spelling, and grammar. File legal documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing, and prepare documents for service of process. Maintain positive client relations, review incoming mail, distribute items to teams, and upload content to the document management system. Schedule appointments, manage travel, process client billing, enter attorney time, and coordinate requests with other support departments. Provide overflow coverage and assist with case intake, conflict checks, and file closures. Requires five years of litigation secretarial experience, proficiency with Microsoft programs, and familiarity with iManage or similar technology. Flexibility for occasional overtime is essential.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of litigation secretarial experience
- Strong proofreading skills
- Attention to detail
- Solid grammar/spelling skills
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Legal citation and legal terminology expertise
- Familiarity with iManage, Compulaw or similar technology
- The ability to organize, prioritize and meet the demands off multiple attorney assignments
- Flexibility to work overtime occasionally
- Good attendance and punctuality
