Job Summary
Manage litigation secretarial support for five or more attorneys, including heavy court filings, scheduling hearings and depositions, and tracking deadlines. Type, proofread, and format legal documents under time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining attorney and client records. Coordinate travel, arrange service of documents, and handle client billing and expense reimbursement. Open and route mail, maintain case management systems, and ensure attorney timekeeping accuracy. Serve as an intermediary with clients, responding to requests with urgency and follow-up. Work independently in a team environment to minimize backlog and support firm objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience as a legal secretary or executive assistant
- familiarity with law firm billing processes
- Demonstrated strong word processing and computer skills
- proficient understanding of MS Word
- proficient understanding of MS Excel
- proficient understanding of MS Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to type 75 wpm on word processing equipment with a high degree of accuracy
