Job Summary
Engage directly with clients daily to manage Family and Civil Law proceedings, including Child Protection, Domestic Violence, and Civil Litigation matters. Advise on Anti-discrimination, Estates, and Consumer Protection cases while maintaining autonomy over workflows without billable hour pressure. Handle complex casework with resilience, developing culturally competent service skills for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Support specialization as an Independent Children's Lawyer or Separate Representative with access to free Continuing Professional Development. Required Qualifications
- Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland
- Hold (or be eligible for immediate acquisition of) a current Practising Certificate
- Admitted as a Legal Practitioner or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland
- Admitted as a Legal Practitioner or Barrister of the Australian High Court
- Holder (or be eligible for immediate application) of a current Queensland Government Blue Card
- High level of professional service and capacity across a wide range of Family and Civil Law proceedings
- Experience in casework relating to Child Protection
- Experience in casework relating to Domestic Violence applications
- Experience in Civil Litigation generally
- Experience in Anti-discrimination matters
- Experience in Estates
- Experience in Consumer Protection type matters
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience
- Resilience in handling complex cases
- Ability to develop culturally competent service skills
