Job Summary
Open new matters by preparing engagement letters and conflicts waivers, and maintain client, administrative, and personal filings using FileTrail procedures. Coordinate domestic and foreign travel, including hotels and flights, while managing lawyers' calendars, schedules, and Outlook contacts. Draft routine correspondence, proofread documents, and track expense reports and reimbursements through Chrome River. Assist with marketing and business development by researching materials, preparing proposals, and coordinating lawyer biographies. Answer calls, screen inquiries, and relay messages promptly to client needs while maintaining confidentiality. Maintain CLE records and interface with clients in person, by phone, or email.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
Desired Qualifications
- bachelor's degree
- Three to ten years of experience as a legal practice assistant, executive assistant, or project assistant
- Typing proficiency of at least 65 words per minute
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage competing demands in a fast‐paced environment
- Strong technical, organizational, and administrative skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, make timely decisions, explain reasoning clearly, and involve appropriate stakeholders when needed
- Well‐developed Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate proficiency in Excel; ability to format documents using Styles and proofread for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors
