Job Summary
Provide day-to-day legal support to Development, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial, corporate, real estate, and construction agreements. Lead legal due diligence for transactional closings and manage corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and documentation while coordinating with public authorities, notaries, and external advisors. Identify legal risks and develop business-focused solutions, manage external counsel for disputes, and improve legal processes and contract management practices. Contribute to the development of the local legal function and team within an international real estate investment group in Panama City.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree
- admission to practice law in the Republic of Panama
- 10–15 years of professional legal experience
- Strong background in Corporate, Civil and Real Estate Law
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- supporting construction or real estate development projects
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Combines strong legal judgment with a commercial mindset
- Is proactive, hands-on and highly organized
- Thrives under pressure while maintaining sound decision-making
- Enjoys collaborating with international teams across different time zones
- Builds trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
