Job Summary
Senior Legal Consultant (Contract, remote US) to oversee the quality and accuracy of legal datasets used for AI training. Lead senior-level quality audits to identify where instructions may be legally ambiguous and ensure that the work produced by contributors is professional, jurisdictionally accurate, and practically sound. Responsibilities include Quality Oversight to refine training guidelines, Expert Review of complex legal outputs, Root-Cause Analysis of inconsistencies, and Professional Alignment to reflect standards expected of a Senior or Lead Counsel. Requires JD or LLM and active Bar admission, 20+ years of legal experience in senior leadership roles, strong ability to explain legal nuances to non-legal technical teams, and practical knowledge of AI tools in legal research, contract drafting, and case summaries; familiarity with eDiscovery, CLM software, and major legal research databases. Required Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM). Bar Admission (current or former) in good standing is required.
- Experience: 20+ years of legal experience. Senior In-House Counsel, Lead Litigators, or similar senior leadership roles within the legal field.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex legal nuances to non-legal technical teams in a clear, practical manner.
- Technical Proficiency and Professional Standards: Senior Legal SME
- Generative AI Awareness: Practical understanding of how AI tools are used for legal research, contract drafting, and case summaries.
- Ethical Oversight: Knowledge of ethical considerations regarding AI in legal practice, data privacy, and professional conduct.
- Technical Translation: Ability to convert complex legal nuances into clear, structured guidelines for technical teams.
- Legal Tech Experience: Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms, CLM software, or advanced legal research databases like Westlaw and LexisNexis.
