Job Summary

Legal Document Specialist on-site in Phoenix, AZ (2nd Shift) responsible for producing, formatting, and editing legal documents to firm specifications using Word processing and MS Office tools. Duties include creating/editing/formatting legal documents, converting files, building Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents, producing charts/tables, data entry, transcription of dictation, and providing help desk support for application queries. Must maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and follow policies. Training occurs Monday–Friday for 6 weeks; schedule is 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with an in-office/onsite work arrangement.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience in legal word processing or document production environment preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with creating TOAs, TOCs, inserting automated cross-references, converting PDFs to Word, applying Word styles using macros, troubleshooting problematic documents including redlines and multi-numbering schemes
  • Transcription experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal citations preferred
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm with 95% accuracy
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and deadlines
