Job Summary
Legal Director role in Manchester leading Crime & Regulatory practice. Shape strategy, grow the team, manage a varied caseload as day-to-day counsel and supervisor to junior lawyers. Responsibilities include leading on high-value regulatory matters, providing technical expertise in inquests and fitness-to-practise cases, advocating where appropriate, delivering commercial, pragmatic advice, building client and insurer relationships, mentoring juniors, contributing to business development and thought leadership, and taking ownership of financial performance and profitability. The role offers hybrid/flexible working within a high-quality, diverse client base and opportunities to expand the Manchester presence within a global Fortune 500 group.
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in crime/regulatory law (senior associate, Legal Director or partner)
- strong leadership and people-management experience
- ability to lead complex regulatory matters and advocacy where appropriate
- client development and business development capability
- experience with insurance-backed work or complex participant environments
