Job Summary
Legal Counsel – Vice President based in Frankfurt, Germany, part of the LRC team. Responsibilities include reviewing and drafting commercial banking documentation (loan agreements, security, trade finance), advising on transaction structure and amendments, examining documentation for internal approvals, supporting negotiations, representing Legal in meetings and projects, coordinating with other legal departments, managing external counsel, strengthening policy/framework and regulatory awareness, and drafting/reviewing in-house contracts and NDAs. Requires a Master’s degree in German law, at least 4 years PQE in banking/financial sectors, fluent English and German, ability to manage transactions independently, and a proactive, client-focused, analytical approach. Hybrid working model offered.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in German law
- At least 4 years PQE within the banking/financial sector or equivalent experience in a law firm
- Proven drafting and negotiating transactional documentation in English and German, including syndicated (LMA) and bilateral facilities and Trade Finance Products (bank guarantees, LC, risk participations)
- Experience with Project and Acquisition finance, securitisations and master netting agreements (ISDA, DRV) is a plus
- Ability to manage transactions independently with high-quality standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Pro-active, pragmatic, independent and client-focused mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and German
- Team player, flexible and punctual
