Job Summary
Legal Counsel focused on platform-based investment propositions (ISAs, GIAs, pensions) providing expert legal and technical advice across product design, governance, and regulatory compliance. Role involves interpreting legislative developments, drafting customer-facing documentation, guiding complex disputes related to platform and investment products, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external advisers/regulators, and ensuring consumer duty alignment while enabling sustainable growth and sound risk management.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor or barrister (Scotland and/or England)
- Experience providing legal advice (in-house or private practice)
- Experience or knowledge of financial services, investments or pensions (ideal but not essential)
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risk with business needs
- Confidence communicating complex legal matters clearly and pragmatically
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders and influencing decision-making
- Proactive, pragmatic and solution-focused approach
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Right to work in the UK (as applicable)
- Credit and criminal record checks and satisfactory references may be required
