Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel role in-house at Nominet, primarily UK-focused with some exposure to European regulation. You will advise across corporate governance, commercial contracts, disputes, regulatory change, data protection, internet infrastructure, and government framework contracts, drafting and negotiating agreements, and guiding practical risk-based decisions. The position requires a qualified solicitor with post-qualification experience, comfortable working independently, and able to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders. The role is hybrid with a minimum of 20% in the Oxford office per month. You will support regulatory developments, disputes management, and policy guidance, including governance and terms of business for domain-related activities. UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and related regulatory regimes are key areas, with some exposure to international data transfers and related DPIAs. The role emphasizes collaboration across business units, practical advice, and leveraging AI tools to improve quality and efficiency.
