Job Summary
Legal Counsel – Commercial Aviation Contracting to join Rolls-Royce in Derby. Focus on providing contract and commercial legal subject matter support for Customer Team activities across the Commercial Aviation Contracting team, including international travel to support customer negotiations. Deliver timely, cost-effective, technically correct legal advice; identify and mitigate risks; develop new precedent documents and playbooks to streamline product and service deployment; contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the legal function and business; manage interactions with external law firms; build strong internal relationships across businesses and functions. The role requires a qualified practicing lawyer with extensive contracting experience in civil aerospace, the ability to influence at senior levels, and the capability to work under own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified and practicing lawyer
- Ideally 5+ years PQE
- Technical legal knowledge and practical experience in contracting, ideally in Civil Aerospace
- Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiations skills
