Job Summary
Legal Counsel for Real Estate Development will act as the primary legal advisor for land acquisition, ground leases, and development agreements supporting Vultr's data center buildout. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating purchase/sale agreements, ground leases, development and option agreements, easements, advising on land use, zoning, and permitting, conducting title and environmental due diligence, coordinating with local counsel and government authorities, managing external real estate counsel, developing standard form agreements and negotiation playbooks, advising on utility easements/interconnection rights, supporting Finance/M&A on real estate aspects of transactions, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions, and providing real estate risk guidance to non-legal stakeholders. Qualifications emphasize a J.D., U.S. bar admission, 5–10 years of real estate experience, and familiarity with industrial or data center real estate; preferred experience includes hyperscaler or data center infra companies and experience with international real estate transactions. Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to a U.S. state bar required
- 5–10 years of real estate legal experience, ideally including both law firm and in-house backgrounds
- Substantial experience with commercial real estate transactions including large-scale land acquisition, ground leases, and development agreements
- Familiarity with industrial, data center, or infrastructure real estate is strongly preferred
