Legal Counsel

Job Summary
Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts with clients and suppliers in the advertising and media industry across the DACH region, with a primary focus on Germany. Provide legal support for public tenders, assess new business models, and handle disputes with third parties. Develop pragmatic solutions for legal matters in German and English, coordinating with external lawyers and Group Legal stakeholders. Prepare reports, memos, and presentations for the Legal Director. Report directly to the Head of Legal. Fluent German and English skills are required. Based in Düsseldorf, this role offers mobile office flexibility up to 12 days per month within a collaborative environment supporting 110,000+ employees across the Publicis Groupe network.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer or equivalent legal qualification
- Relevant professional experience in an in-house legal department or law firm environment
- Experience supporting business areas and agencies in Germany and/or across the DACH region
- Experience preferably within the advertising, media, marketing services or creative industries
- Strong experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with clients and suppliers in German and English
- Solid understanding of commercial law and legal topics related to advertising, media, marketing services, public tenders, dispute support, Group policies and local legal frameworks
- Ability to assess legal risks and provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented recommendations
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, research, analytical and organisational skills
- Collaborative, reliable and able to work effectively with business teams, Group Legal stakeholders and external counsel in Germany and abroad
- Fluent German and English language skills
