Legal Counsel

Drafting and negotiating a broad range of contracts for Iberia and the wider EMEA business (e.g. channel distribution; programme acquisitions; ad sales, sponsorship and client partnerships; marketing services; and technical operations). Advise on broadcast regulation and regulatory policy (e.g., content ratings, protection of minors, European Works quotas, advertising rules), coordinating with Government Affairs and Content Compliance as required. Support liaising with authorities (e.g., CNMC, Spanish AVMS registry) to ensure regulatory compliance. Advise internal stakeholders on programming rights and restrictions. Supervise the Associate Legal Counsel, Madrid, in coordinating and submitting regulatory filings (e.g., CNMC information requests, Socrates reports, Broadcasting and Investment Quota declarations). Collaborate with London and Paris teams on ad-hoc matters, and supervise/train the Madrid Associate Legal Counsel. Requires Spain-licensed practitioner with ~5+ years’ post-graduation legal experience, strong contract drafting/negotiation skills, IP rights expertise, and bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English (French is a plus). A Master’s degree in IP or Audiovisual Law is strongly preferred; applicants without a Master’s who demonstrate relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
