Job Summary
Legal Counsel role focused on end-to-end contract work including drafting, negotiating, and managing software licensing, software maintenance, sub-contractor, non-disclosure, teaming, and vendor agreements; provides guidance on employment, intellectual property, and risk management; reviews RFPs and bid documents for compliance; mentors Contract Managers; collaborates with sales, finance, and service teams; works from home anywhere in Canada or the US with opportunities to travel internationally; requires articulate commercial/legal judgment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks across geographies.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in law (mandatory)
- Bar admission in Canada or USA in good standing
- Strong corporate/commercial law skills
- Experience with software licensing agreements, public procurement, and contract negotiation
- Experience managing teams and interacting with customers
- Minimum 4 years related experience
