Job Summary
Legal Counsel role focusing on owning commercial and contract workflows to support revenue growth, onboarding, and compliance for a fast-growing startup. You’ll manage the full contract lifecycle (drafting, review, redlining, execution, renewal), negotiate SaaS agreements (MSAs, NDAs, Order Forms), coordinate due diligence and security questionnaires, and support SOC 2 and procurement processes. The role collaborates closely with leadership, operations, finance, engineering, and external counsel, building scalable processes, templates, and dashboards to improve visibility and efficiency. Key impact areas include contract velocity, risk management in commercial negotiations, customer-facing documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate deals while maintaining control. Requirements include 8+ years in related roles, enterprise contract negotiation experience, SaaS contract expertise, strong English communication, and the ability to operate independently in a startup environment. Preferred qualifications include a law degree or legal background and SOC 2/vendor due diligence familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Legal Operations, Sales Operations, Contract Management, Commercial Operations, or a related role
- Experience reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience negotiating contracts with enterprise customers
- Strong understanding of SaaS contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, Order Forms, and service agreements
- Familiarity with key contract concepts such as liability, indemnification, renewals, data protection, and commercial terms
- Experience managing multiple contracts, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to simplify complex contractual concepts for business stakeholders
- Comfortable working directly with customers and external partners
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving abilities
- English proficiency: C2
