Job Summary
Lead ASML Japan's Legal & Compliance function by acting as a strategic business partner to local leadership and global teams. Proactively advise on commercial arrangements, procurement, regulatory matters, and dispute risks while managing external counsel and litigation. Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of contracts including customer agreements, NDAs, and license deals. Monitor evolving legal landscapes in Japan across competition, data privacy, and export controls to ensure audit readiness. Promote an integrity culture through training, policy implementation, and ethical decision-making support. Represent Legal & Compliance on the Country Management Team, building trusted relationships with stakeholders across Japan, regional, and global functions. This high-impact role requires a licensed attorney with 10+ years of experience in technology or semiconductors, fluent Japanese and English, and frequent domestic and occasional international travel.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
- 10+ years of legal and compliance experience in multinational environments
- Licensed attorney in Japan or another major jurisdiction
- Fluent Japanese and English language ability
- Frequent domestic travel to other ASML Japan sites required
- occasional international travel
