Job Summary
Legal Counsel for HKEX's integrated fund platform, providing legal guidance on regulatory issues for launch and daily operation, drafting/reviewing/negotiating agreements with fund houses, distributors, transfer agents, custodians, and other market players; assess regulatory documentation impacts regionally and internationally from fund houses' and distributors' perspectives; support new strategic initiatives and business development (potential connections with GBA and Mainland China); review a wide range of contracts involving vendors and IT, regulatory cooperation, and other platform-related engagements; manage external counsel and perform in-house functions to support the HKEX group business.
Required Qualifications
- Hong Kong qualified lawyer with ideally 8 years' post qualification experience
- focus on or exposure to fund distribution services and related regulatory matters or asset management
- in-house experience in legal or regulatory compliance of financial institutions with focus on distribution channels
- excellent written and spoken English and good Chinese language skills; proficiency in Putonghua added advantage
- ability to work independently and support senior management; strong commercial sense and analytical skills; team player
