Job Summary
Provide timely, clear, and commercially pragmatic legal advice on retail savings and investment products, including product structuring, design, and customer communications. Interpret and apply relevant legal and regulatory frameworks to translate them into practical guidance for the business, while supporting the identification and management of legal, regulatory, and conduct risks. Advise on the development and implementation of new and existing propositions, including changes to features, distribution, and servicing models. Draft, review, and advise on policy terms and conditions, marketing materials, and financial promotions as part of product lifecycle management and remediation activities. This role supports the M&G Legal team's focus on the Individual Life & Pensions business, enabling business growth and ensuring good customer outcomes for retail financial services.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent)
- at least 4 years of relevant PQE
- Experience of advising within one of the following sectors: Life insurance and/or Pensions and/or Asset/wealth management and/or Retail financial services
- Working knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to retail savings and investment products
- Commercial and analytical capability
- Strong ability to apply legal principles pragmatically in a commercial context
- Sound judgement and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Ability to manage complex issues and provide clear recommendations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to influence and engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work across functions
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- High levels of integrity and professional judgement
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality output to deadlines
