Job Summary
Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and financial services matters. Support strategic initiatives, transactions, and cross-border projects across multiple jurisdictions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements. Advise on data protection and regulatory developments while collaborating with specialist teams to deliver client-focused legal solutions. Contribute to the development of legal frameworks, policies, and governance standards, and monitor industry changes to share relevant insights. Build relationships with internal and external advisers, develop legal precedents, and deliver training initiatives to enhance organizational awareness. Join the Group Legal team to shape best practice and strengthen governance for a global business operating across 20+ countries.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Barrister in Mauritius called to the Bar in UK
- at least 5 years PQE
- 3 years in an in-house role
- Strong knowledge of trust, corporate, commercial, fund and financial services law
- experience advising within a regulated or professional services environment
- Extensive experience supporting a broad range of legal, corporate and commercial matters across multiple stakeholders and business functions
- Strong drafting, negotiation and contract review skills
- ability to provide commercially focused legal guidance
- In-depth understanding of applicable legislation, regulatory frameworks and industry best practices relevant to financial services
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical and business-focused advice for a variety of audiences
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
