Job Summary
Legal Counsel to support the Legal and Compliance team with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, managing contract lifecycle, maintaining corporate records and policies, leading customer due diligence responses, and overseeing legal technology tools. The role emphasizes operational excellence, process management, and implementation of procedures for contract management, investigations, and compliance training; involves administration of key legal tools, evaluation of new technologies, and training material creation; requires strong organization, multi-matter management, and effective communication. Suitable for candidates with 5+ years in corporate/M&A/IP, a JD, and admission to practice in IL/NY/CA/MO. This position supports governance, invoicing compliance, and departmental budgeting within a fast-paced tech-enabled legal function.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois, New York, California, or Missouri
- 5+ years of experience in corporate, M&A, or IP (big firm, in-house tech company, or related)
- Excellent legal writing and drafting skills
- Experience with corporate transactions, technology licensing, and intellectual property
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal tech tools (CLM, e-billing, matter management)
