Job Summary
Manage and advise on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters including commercial contracts, data protection, advertising, corporate, consumer law, employment, intellectual property, property, and litigation. Take active ownership of legal team strategy, implement group-wide training, and stay current with legislation to brief the business on key developments. Work autonomously with tight deadlines to support five brands and eight labels across multiple territories, identifying needs for external legal advice while controlling costs. Lead by example for the legal team, maintain credibility across the group, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors. Project manage key initiatives and proactively improve processes. Based in central Manchester, this role requires a qualified solicitor with strong commercial acumen to drive business forward in a fast-changing retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified and practising solicitor
- Must be capable of autonomously working to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Must be responsive, proactive and able to effectively manage deadlines and stakeholders
- Must be able to quickly adapt to different people, situations and areas of advice
- Must be able to work with a passionate, entrepreneurial and driven ethos
- Must have a positive 'can do' attitude
- Must have a willingness to just get stuck in

Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years PQE
- In-house experience at an ecommerce business
- Strong commercial contract experience
