Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including customized customer contracts, strategic partnerships, and supplier contracts. Resolve legal issues and contract interpretation matters arising during negotiations while producing and maintaining standard agreements such as NDAs. Advise on commercial legal issues, risks, and special projects like new product developments, conducting research on multijurisdictional legal issues as needed. Support the company's strategic projects with creative, proactive, and results-oriented advice. This role is for a proactive lawyer (3-7 PQE) based in London HQ, working in a fast-paced fintech environment that enables over 10 billion transactions yearly for global shoppers.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor/lawyer
- 3-7 PQE
- strong post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as needed, flexing the approach as the matter requires
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely
- Excellent time management skills and experience managing a diverse workload and competing stakeholder demands
Desired Qualifications
- Previous FinTech, payments, software, e-commerce and/or bank experience
- Experience working in a start-up or other fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience working internationally and on a variety of cross-border matters
- Enthusiasm for new challenges and skilling up in different areas of law
