Job Summary
Provide compliance and regulatory guidance to a multi-jurisdictional online gambling business; advise on licensing and regulatory matters; draft and negotiate commercial contracts; assess and advise on marketing promotions and advertising compliance; manage license applications in US jurisdictions; monitor legislative and regulatory developments; collaborate with senior leadership to support all aspects of regulatory compliance; contribute to in-house legal strategy within a hybrid working arrangement; support day-to-day legal questions and external dispute resolution; work with cross-functional teams to navigate highly regulated industry dynamics in the gambling and sports betting space.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- Licensed member of the Colorado Bar in good standing or ability to obtain Single Client Counsel certification in Colorado
- 2 to 7 years of legal experience
- Experience in online gambling and sports betting industry or similar highly regulated industry is strongly preferred
- Experience negotiating marketing agreements and advising on marketing regulations is strongly preferred
- Experience as in-house counsel, at a top law firm or government agency
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to build rapport at all levels
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Reviewing and advising on marketing promotions and advertisements
- Maintaining compliance with licensing requirements according to regulations
- Advising on day-to-day legal questions from the business
- Advising and assisting in customer complaints and external dispute resolution
- Supporting ad hoc projects and business development opportunities
- Bachelor-level/graduate legal education demonstrated by JD and bar eligibility
