Job Summary
Partner with the Head of Legal to manage, prioritize, and resolve complex legal issues across Canadian and US operations. Provide strategic advice to internal teams on commercial, operational, and risk matters, while drafting and negotiating high-impact non-standard agreements. Identify early legal risks and balance protection with business agility, managing external counsel for specialized advice. Establish working relationships with key business units within the first few months to enable Article to scale efficiently. Work autonomously in a hybrid model, reporting to the Head of Legal in a tight-knit team focused on solving meaningful problems.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of post-call legal experience
- ideally with a mix of law firm training and in-house experience
- focusing on commercial law
- member in good standing with a Canadian law society
- preferably the Law Society of British Columbia
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of a criminal background check
