Job Summary

As Legal Counsel, you'll work closely with our General Counsel to provide practical, business-focused legal support across AEVI's operations. You'll act as a trusted partner to teams across Procurement, Product, Information Security, Engineering, and Commercial functions, helping them navigate legal and regulatory matters in a fast-paced technology environment. This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day commercial contracting with strategic legal advisory work. You'll draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements (with focus on procurement contracts), support the contract approval/execution process, and ensure arrangements align with AEVI's risk appetite and internal policies. You'll provide practical advice on data protection/privacy, intellectual property, technology and software, cybersecurity and IT security, and emerging AI-related legal considerations; collaborate with Product and Engineering on tech matters; identify, assess and mitigate legal/regulatory risks; help develop internal policies and compliance frameworks; coordinate with external advisers; build trusted relationships across the business; deliver legal awareness/training; and manage matters independently from initiation to completion in a small, agile team. The ideal candidate is a qualified German lawyer with roughly 8–10 years of post-qualification experience, with experience in technology, fintech or SaaS, and strong capabilities in drafting, negotiation, risk assessment, and strategic advisory.”],

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified German lawyer with approximately 8–10 years' post-qualification experience
  • Experience across private practice and in-house environments, ideally within technology, fintech or SaaS businesses
  • Strong expertise in Commercial contracts and procurement, GDPR and data protection, Intellectual property, Technology and software law, Legal risk assessment
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels
