Job Summary
As Legal Counsel, you'll work closely with our General Counsel to provide practical, business-focused legal support across AEVI's operations. You'll act as a trusted partner to teams across Procurement, Product, Information Security, Engineering, and Commercial functions, helping them navigate legal and regulatory matters in a fast-paced technology environment. This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day commercial contracting with strategic legal advisory work. You'll draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements (with focus on procurement contracts), support the contract approval/execution process, and ensure arrangements align with AEVI's risk appetite and internal policies. You'll provide practical advice on data protection/privacy, intellectual property, technology and software, cybersecurity and IT security, and emerging AI-related legal considerations; collaborate with Product and Engineering on tech matters; identify, assess and mitigate legal/regulatory risks; help develop internal policies and compliance frameworks; coordinate with external advisers; build trusted relationships across the business; deliver legal awareness/training; and manage matters independently from initiation to completion in a small, agile team. Required Qualifications
- Qualified German lawyer with approximately 8–10 years' post-qualification experience
- Experience across private practice and in-house environments, ideally within technology, fintech or SaaS businesses
- Strong expertise in Commercial contracts and procurement, GDPR and data protection, Intellectual property, Technology and software law, Legal risk assessment
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels
