Job Summary
Role involves providing proactive, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across the Middle East & Africa on legal risks; advising on regional and global commercial contracts, data privacy, banking product and commercial template creation, front office deal support, regional legal updates, guides, and support with internal projects and governance. The legal counsel will support senior lawyers in the department and work within the SMBC DIFC Branch, reporting to the director, senior legal counsel for STPD-Legal Middle East & Africa. Requires minimum 3 years post-qualification experience; fluent English language skills are mandatory; familiarity with corporate and commercial banking products is advantageous.
