Job Summary
Legal Clerical Support specialist in a high-volume debt-collection law firm; provides admin support to attorneys, paralegals, and process servers; prepares legal documents (summonses, complaints, affidavits of service, motions); coordinates assignment and tracking of process service orders for timely, compliant service; communicates daily with process servers, clients, and court personnel to confirm case status, service completion, and filing deadlines; reviews affidavits for accuracy and compliance; maintains and updates case management systems; assists with e-filing and court submissions; supports attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks including document scanning, filing, and data entry; ensures confidentiality and adherence to FDCPA guidelines and applicable state legal requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of clerical experience in a law firm, court, or collections environment
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and collection law practices a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, investigate case-related issues, and make informed decisions to drive cases to resolution
- Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion with limited oversight
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
