Job Summary
Issue new client fee agreements, process retainers, and apply incoming payments to maintain accurate financial records. Generate and distribute Prebills, ensuring attorneys review and return edits timely, while preparing revisions and running final bills for distribution. Disperse monthly invoices for initial review, monitor retainer balances to secure client replenishments, and follow up on past due accounts. Research and respond to internal and external inquiries regarding billing issues promptly. Provide budgets, billing forecasts, and ad hoc reporting to management and clients. This role requires at least two years of billing experience, proficiency with MS Office and billing software, and strong organizational skills within a fast-paced accounting department.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years working as a billing specialist in a law firm
- Computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
