Job Summary

Edit prebills via Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on requests from Billing Attorneys, then generate a high volume of complex client invoices. Ensure all invoices comply with billing guidelines by compiling required supporting documentation before submission. Submit ebills via EHub, monitor and immediately address invoice rejections, reductions, and appeals, and respond to billing inquiries. Undertake special projects and ad hoc reports as needed. This full-time role reports to the Billing Manager of Revenue Management in Chicago, with flexibility to work overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation
  • Effectively prioritize workload and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, as well as take a proactive approach in a team setting
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Takes initiative and uses good judgment; excellent follow-up skills
  • Must be proactive in identifying billing issues and providing possible solutions
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships within all levels of the firm
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Legal Biller required
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environment
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows to enhance daily work tasks as appropriate and/or directed
  • Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies and contributes to a culture of innovation
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed
  • This role will be based in our Chicago office
