Job Summary
Legal Billing Clerk to review time entries, generate 300+ client invoices per month, manage collections, reconcile client trust accounts, enter expenses in legal billing software, submit invoices to insurance for reimbursement, and maintain accurate billing records. Requires meticulous attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and professional client communications. Also assists with basic financial reporting and budgeting as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legal, healthcare or accounting practice billing or bookkeeping/basic accounting experience
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal office preferred
- Basic understanding of billing and accounting principles
- Experience with legal billing software (e.g., Clio, LawPay or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and billing tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client inquiries and collections follow-up
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and composure under pressure
