Job Summary
Legal Assistant supports the attorney and litigation paralegal in Florida, handling duties such as obtaining medical records, reviewing intake and discovery, drafting legal documents, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Responsibilities include renaming and organizing medical records and bills, creating medical notebooks for depositions/mediations/trials, entering physician details into case chronologies, auditing medical bills, handling health liens, and e-filing documents in Florida’s portal. Requires bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (Creole a plus), strong customer service and organizational skills, and experience with Microsoft Office and PDF software. The role also involves coordinating client transportation, maintaining the attorney’s calendar, and interpreting for non-English speakers when capable.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED diploma required
- Bilingual in English/Spanish; Creole is a plus (preferred)
- Legal experience with clients preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF software
- Ability to communicate effectively and multitask
