Job Summary
Legal Assistant/Receptionist in Manhattan focusing on §50-h hearings; responsibilities include administration of the §50-h hearing program, opening new matters in OASIS, scheduling, coordinating hearing lists, drafting routine correspondence and hearing notices, maintaining electronic case files and databases, conflict checks, mail handling, coordinating office and kitchen supplies, and providing administrative/operational support to the Office Manager and HR leadership. Must work with attorneys and staff to ensure timely processing of transcripts, compliance with deadlines, and accurate billing documentation. Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience; law-firm experience and proficiency with Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional environment
- Experience supporting professionals in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with scheduling, case management, and hearing coordination
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff and attorneys
- Professional demeanor and strong service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with legal case management systems or platforms is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
