Job Summary
Legal Assistant needed to provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support in civil litigation. Responsibilities include maintaining trial and discovery calendars, scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings; assisting with attorney time entry and invoice processing using billing software; opening and organizing case files; drafting pleadings, correspondence, reports, motions, and discovery documents under attorney direction; reviewing and summarizing medical records, contracts, and case evidence; preparing, issuing, and tracking subpoenas and other legal requests for records; and performing other litigation support duties as needed. Candidates should be highly organized, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal setting. Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in legal assistance for litigators in general liability and NM state court e-filing experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and strong written/verbal communication skills; high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal assistant supporting litigators in general liability
- New Mexico State Court e-filing experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with WordPerfect a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize competing demands
- High school diploma or equivalent required
