Job Summary
Legal Assistant needed to support a fast-paced personal injury law firm. Responsibilities include scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files and exhibits, maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, researching regulations and case law, managing client billing and resolving billing issues, and coordinating meetings, interviews, and depositions. Requires strong writing and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and experience with litigation documentation and court rules. On-site in Philadelphia, PA, with a focus on supporting attorneys and the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and accurate record-keeping.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department)
- Experience in Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, General Liability, or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficient in calendar depositions, mediation, and hearings
- Extensive computer and database expertise, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing no less than 35 wpm
