Job Summary
Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a Birmingham-based defense litigation practice; duties include drafting, revising, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, preparing and submitting filings in state and federal courts, managing files, calendars, scheduling, travel, deadlines, and case logistics, maintaining firm databases, assisting with billing and time entry, and professional communication with clients and court personnel; requires strong organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail with 4+ years of litigation support experience and notary preferred; on-site in Birmingham, AL.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of litigation legal assistant experience
- Strong experience with court filings and legal document preparation
- Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational ability
- Strong Microsoft Office and general legal technology skills
- Ability to work accurately, stay organized, and respond well to changing priorities
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys preferred
- Notary preferred or able to obtain or renew
